SENIOR WEEKEND
Dartmouth plays its final three games of the season at the Dartmouth Softball Park against Princeton on Saturday and Sunday. The Big Green will honor senior co-captains
Morgan Martinelli and
Taylor Ward prior to the game on Sunday.
MO AND TAYLOR
- Morgan Martinelli has started 152 out of 153 games at Dartmouth and is a career .315 hitter with 17 home runs, 31 doubles, two triples and 87 RBIs with the Big Green. Morgan hit .377 her freshman season with 14 doubles, two home runs, two triples and 22 RBIs to earn Second Team All-Ivy. She then batted .323 with six home runs, six doubles and 26 RBIs her sophomore year, also earning Second Team Honors. Her junior year, Morgan hit .295 with seven home runs, seven doubles and 22 RBIs to earn her first, First Team All-Ivy selection.Â
- Taylor Ward holds a career .279 batting average with 12 home runs and 42 RBIs. As a junior, Taylor led the team with a .470 on base percentage, tied the team lead with seven home runs and five stolen bases. She was second on the team with a .315 batting average, .620 slugging percentage and 24 RBIs. She also hit five doubles and a triple and did not make an error on her way to being named First Team All-Ivy.
AT BOSTON COLLEGE
- The Big Green played Boston College in their final road and non-conference game of the season and fell 8-2.
- Micah Schroder was responsible for both Dartmouth runs by driving them home with a two-RBI single in the fourth inning.
- Schae Nelson finished the day with two hits, while Calista Almer and Abby Shipley each had one hit.
- BC scored at least one run in every inning.
- Shelby Wilkison did not give up a hit and struck out a batter in one inning of work.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
- Princeton enters the final weekend of the season with a 14-24 record and are 10-8 in the Ivy League.
- If the Tigers sweep Dartmouth and Harvard and Columbia both get swept this weekend, then Princeton would finish the season with a four-way share of the Ivy League regular season championship with Columbia, Harvard and Penn.
- However, the tie breakers would not work in Princeton's favor for them to be in the Ivy League Championship Series because Harvard took two out of three over the Tigers and Columbia has already clinched.
- The Tigers are hitting .273 as a team and are led by Kaylee Grant who is batting .405 with four doubles, one home run and 18 RBIs with a .524 on base percentage.
- Megan Donahey is hitting .376 with one double and three RBI, while Allison Harvey is batting .300 with seven doubles and 18 RBIs.
- Princeton has a team ERA of 5.04 and are led by Ali Blanchard who has a 3.36 ERA and 5-7 record in 13 starts with 73 K's in 62.2 innings.
- Allie Reynolds has made the most appearances in the circle for the Tigers with 26 and holds a 9-15 record with a 4.45 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 138.1 innings.
ALL-TIME VS. THE TIGERS
- Dating back to 1995, Princeton holds the lead in the all-time series, 28-21.
- The Tigers won the first 27 out of 37 games played up until the first game of a doubleheader in 2013.
- Since the second game of that doubleheader, the Big Green have won 11 out of 12 over Princeton, only dropping a game last season.
DARTMOUTH STATS
- Micah Schroder still leads the Ivy League in batting average (.471). She also leads the league in slugging percentage (.775), and on-base percentage (.538), while ranking second in RBIs (34) and fourth in home runs (six).
- Calista Almer is batting .345 and is second on the team. She leads the team with 10 stolen bases.
- Taylor Ward is hitting .313 with five home runs, five doubles, two triples and is second on the team with 23 RBIs.
