The Dartmouth soccer team returns to Burnham Field for its first-ever meeting with Niagara. The Big Green are looking for their third win of the year, while the Purple Eagles are trying to snap a three-game losing streak.
LAST TIME OUT
- Dartmouth gave No. 18 New Hampshire a tough fight Wednesday night, but the Wildcats handed the Big Green a 1-0 road loss.
- UNH scored in the 69th minute when Fabian Lutz sent a hard grounder to the bottom left corner of the net past the diving Alex Budnik.
- Budnik set a new career high with seven saves in the contest.
- Tiger Graham had the best chance for the Big Green with a header in the 76th minute that was stopped with an impressive save by the UNH keeper.
- Dartmouth received a red card in the 85th minute and UNH was able to run out the clock.
SCOUTING NIAGARA
- The Purple Eagles are off to a slow start through their first six games with a 1-5-0 record.
- Niagara lost its first two games before collecting its only win of the year, 2-1, in double overtime over Northern Kentucky.
- They played Yale in their last game and fell, 3-1.
- Niagara is being outscored 14-4 this season. Rodrigo Almeida leads the team with two goals, while Frederico Cugge and Mackenzie Roach each have one.
- Nick Burke and Josh Savoni have split time in goal, Burke has the lone victory for the team.
HOT AT HOME
- Dartmouth has not suffered a loss at home in their last 20 games, dating back to the 2016 season.
- The Big Green will look to continue that streak as this season goes on starting on Saturday and into the following games with tough tests against UConn and Princeton.
