HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth sailing hosted its first event of the season and defended Lake Mascoma in the Mrs. Hurst Bowl. The team also took second place in the NEISA Showcase Qualifier at Connecticut College and finished fourth in the Sherman Hoyt Trophy at Brown.

Kathryn Hall and crews
Carlota Hopkins Guerra and
Eloise Burn stayed home and won the Mrs. Hurst Bowl with 47 points. The Division A boat of Giblin and Hopkins Guerra won three out of the six races for 25 points. The Division B boat of Hall and Burn finished in the top five in all but one race which including a victory for 22 points.
In the NEISA Showcase Qualifier, skippers
Payton Thompson and
James Paul and crews
Drew Clutterbuck and
Josh Cherner took second place with 134 points. The A boat of Thompson and Clutterbuck came in the top five in 10 races out of 14 with two wins for 57 points. The B boat of Paul and Cherner had nine top-five finishes with one victory for 77 points.

Noah Simmons and crews
Maddie Sharp and
Annika Rogers finished fourth in the Hoyt Trophy. The A boat of Bragg and Sharp placed in the top five in nine races out of 16 with two victories for 85 points. The B boat of Simmons and Rogers had four top-five finishes with one win for 145 points.
Next weekend (Sept. 28-29) Dartmouth is scheduled to participate in four races: The Danmark Trophy at Coast Guard, the Women's Showcase Round One at Connecticut College, the Moody Trophy at Rhode Island and the Smith Trophy at MIT.
