TAMPA, Fla. – On Friday, competition at the Intercollegiate Sailing Association's (ICSA) Open Fleet Race National Championship concluded, as Dartmouth posted 225 combined total points to claim fifth place overall.
The Big Green's A Division scored 50 points on Friday to finish with 112 total points while the B Division posted 43 points, wrapping the regatta with 113 total.
Dartmouth entered the final day of competition in ninth, jumping four spots in the overall standings to finish just 14 points off the podium and two points behind fourth place Navy.
Competition on Friday started with a 13th place A Division finish and a third place B Division finish. Over the final five races, the A Division earned three top ten finishes, two of which were in the top five, while the B Division claimed four top ten finishes.
The A Division finished sixth overall in their tenth race of the regatta, third overall in their 12th race, and fifth in their 13th to round out their top finishes.
The B Division earned four straight top ten finishes including third to start the day. They posted seventh, tenth, and sixth place overall finishes before closing competition with a second-place overall finish.
Over the course of two days of sailing, the Big Green's A Division earned nine top ten finishes including one win. The B Division finished in the top ten in all but two of their 14 races, including a regatta high second place finish in their final race.
Brown earned the 2026 National Championship with 163 total points, followed by Stanford (174), Yale (211), Navy (223) and Dartmouth (225) to round out the top-five.
