Davis Named Ivy Special Teams Player of the Week

HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth place kicker Connor Davis was named the Ivy League Special Teams Player of the week by the league office this afternoon. This is his second weekly award from the conference having been chosen as the Rookie of the Week 364 days ago.

A sophomore from Ocala, Florida, Davis performed his place-kicking duties to perfection in the Big Green's 38-3 victory over visiting Colgate. He converted all five of his extra-point attempts along with a 39-yard field goal as time expired in the first half that allowed Dartmouth to take a 24-0 advantage into the locker room. The eight points were his most since producing 10 last year against Holy Cross that led to his Rookie of the Week accolade.

The 39-yard field goal is Davis' lone attempt thus far, and he is a perfect 10-for-10 on PATs. He led the Big Green in scoring last year with 58 points and currently ranks second on the squad with his 13.

Davis is Dartmouth's first Special Teams Player of the Week since Jeremiah Douchee earned the honor just over two years ago. And the last weekly award any Big Green player received was the defensive honor last Oct. 22, courtesy of Rocco Di Leo.

Dartmouth (2-0, 0-0 Ivy) will open up Ivy League play on Friday night at Penn (1-1, 0-0 Ivy) on historic Franklin Field. The game will be televised on ESPNU with Bill Spauling and John Congemi on the call, and a free audio broadcast will be available online through DartmouthSports.com with Brett Franklin and Wayne Young '72 calling the action.

Note: In addition to Davis' award, senior quarterback Jared Gerbino received honorable mention for the College Football Performance Awards FCS National Performer of the Week for completing 12-of-16 passes for 193 yards and three touchdowns.
