Dartmouthsports.com will be recognizing the senior student-athletes who had their fall seasons postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today's Senior … Nate Boone, defensive lineman on the football team.
DartmouthSports.com: What have workouts been like so far? Nate Boone: More intense than ever. The postponement of the season only means more time to get better for the next season. After fully recovering from my injuries, I'm now 270 pounds and feeling smarter, faster, and stronger than ever. Can't wait to step on the field again.
DS: What is your most memorable on-field team moment? NB: Winning the Ivy League Championship.
DS: And your most memorable on-field individual moment? NB: Sophomore Summer Sunday afternoons I would go out on the field, warm-up, do some positional work, and then stretch. It was always a nice break from school, but more importantly, a reminder that even after the adversity I had and was currently facing, I have a lot to be grateful for.
DS: What is the best thing about practice? NB: Getting to play football and have fun.
DS: And the worst? NB: When we have a bad practice and Coach Brooks has to get involved.
DS: Any hidden talents you can share? NB: I played the viola for six years and can still play it to this day.
DS: If you could swap places with one teammate, who would it be and why? NB:Donald Carty, so I could know what it's like to look over everybody's head.
DS: What are your plans after Dartmouth, as much as you can plan for anything during this pandemic? NB: I want to shoot for the NFL. When football is done, I would like to work as an engineer.
