HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth's
Stephanie Currie was selected as the EISA Women's Alpine Skier of the Week for her performance at the Williams Carnival this past weekend. The senior helped the Big Green women's alpine team to victories in both the slalom and the giant slalom, providing 71 points to the team total.
Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, Currie returned to the slopes after not competing the week before at the Bates Carnival. She finished 10th in the giant slalom on Friday, contributing 30 points to the Dartmouth total of 124 as the Green outpaced New Hampshire (107) for the team title. The next day, Currie led her team with a fourth-place finish in the slalom, good for 41 points, as the Big Green edged past New Hampshire once again, this time by 10 points, 115-105.
Currie is the seventh Dartmouth skier to be honored by the EISA as a Skier of the Week this season, joining junior
Tricia Mangan,
Claire Thomas and
Gwen Wattenmaker from women's alpine,
Drew Duffy and
Andrew Miller from men's alpine, and
Katharine Ogden from women's Nordic.
Dartmouth returns to action on Feb. 28-29 for the Eastern Regional at the Middlebury Carnival.
