HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men's indoor track & field hosted its fourth home meet of the season Saturday, coming away with a dominant win.
The Big Green scored 186 points in winning the team title, 99 more than second-place Merrimack (87). Vermont (86) and Williams (86) tied for third, with UMass (70) taking fifth.
The 186 points were a season high for Dartmouth.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- The Big Green took home the top three spots and 18 points in the weight throw, led by Andrew Palermo's 16.89m toss. Jake Dalton was second (16.51m), while Myles Schreck (16.47m) was third.
- Donovan Spearman and Myles Epstein posted the two fastest times in both the prelims and final of the 60m with both getting faster from the first race to the second. Spearman won the event and the 10 points with a 6.83 in the final with Epstein taking second and adding eight points in 6.87.
- Another one-two showing for the home team came in the 400m with Charlie Wade (51.08) and Myles Holt (51.31) combining for 18 points.
- First collegiate event wins were earned by Will Baginski (1:53.89) in the 800m and Brian Mass (8:35.17) in the 3000m. Ben Matejka (8:36.11) was second in the 3000m a second later to give the Green and White another 18-point event.
- The 4x400m relay team of Holt, Wade, Max Frye and Julian Martelly won the event in convincing fashion, posting a 3:22.67 to take home another 10 points.
- Corbin Mayes won the pole vault with a collegiate-best height of 4.75m./15-7.0
- Ahria Simons was another winner, taking the top spot in the long jump with a lifetime best of 6.98m/22-11.0.
