PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Dartmouth men's tennis opened play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional at Penn, playing a total of 13 matches on Thursday and Friday.

Hikaru Takeda went 3-0 in singles matches, beating players from NJIT and Buffalo on Thursday before winning his match against Dmitry Bezborodov of Monmouth in three sets the following day.
Alex Knox-Jones also had a good showing, downing his opponents from Harvard, Hofstra and Fordham while being slipped up by Gustavo Pinho of St. Francis.
In doubles, Knox-Jones and
Pierce Widdecombe paired up to defeat a pair from Army, 8-5, and
Alejandro Quiles and
Daniel Webb had an 8-2 victory over their opponents from NJIT.

The Big Green will be back in action on Saturday for main draw singles and doubles.
