HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth field hockey team concluded their home schedule on Sunday as they fell to Maine, 3-1.
Â
This served as the final home game for Big Green seniors
Bee Hollyer,
Cecelia Monnin,
Gracyn Campbell,
Sara Falkson, and
Isabella Santucci.
Â
Hollyer scored her first career goal while Santucci recorded a season-high 10 saves.
Â
The game remained scoreless through the first half as both teams were trying to find the breakthrough. The Big Green defense came up big early in the first quarter as they were tasked with defending three penalty corner opportunities for the Black Bears.
Â
Maine took the lead shortly into the second half, grabbing their first goal at 34:53. The Black Bears scored another two goals over the next five minutes to extend their lead.
Â
Dartmouth got on the board in the 42
nd minute through a senior-to-senior combination. Monnin's initial shot was saved by Maine goalkeeper Mia Borley but the rebound fell perfectly for Hollyer to tap in for her first career goal.
Â
The Big Green hit the road next the weekend as they travel to Yale for an Ivy League contest on Saturday and follow that up with the conclusion of their non-conference schedule on Sunday at Providence.
