AMHERST, Mass. — The Dartmouth men's ice hockey team traveled down I-91 to take on #9 UMass, the defending national champions, in their final exhibition ahead of the 2021-22 season.
 
The Big Green won by a score of 3-2.
 
Senior 
Jeff Losurdo opened to the scoring for Dartmouth midway through the first period. Freshman 
Sean Chisholm and sophomore 
Nick Unruh provided the assists on the goal. Freshman 
Nate Morgan extended the lead for the Big Green towards the end of the second period, with freshman Trym Løkkeberg and freshman 
Matt Hubbarde chipping in with the assists.
 
Dartmouth capped off their scoring when Chisholm found the back of the net, while freshman 
Braiden Dorfman had the first assist and Losurdo getting his second point of the night providing the second assist.
 
The Minutemen grabbed two goals to cut into the deficit, but the Big Green held on for the win.
 
Senior 
Justin Ferguson and sophomore 
Clay Stevenson combined for 42 saves.
 
Dartmouth opens their season with two home games this weekend, taking on #14 Harvard in the season opener on Friday night, followed by a non-conference tilt with UConn on Saturday. Tickets can be purchased online at the
