HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth men's ice hockey team fell to UConn, 4-1, in non-conference action on Saturday evening at Thompson Arena.

Dartmouth falls to 0-2-0 on the season while UConn improves to 4-3-0.

Joey Musa, two goals for
Joey Musa. Musa scored the lone goal for the Big Green, the second consecutive night in which he has scored.

Sophomore
Clay Stevenson was a brick wall in goal tonight for Dartmouth, making 34 saves while only allowing two goals.

All five goals happened in the third period. It was back and forth between the Big Green and the Huskies over the first two periods. Stevenson made several top saves to keep things level.

UConn scored their first goal just under one minute into the third period to take a 1-0 lead. Dartmouth responded a few minutes later as senior
Harrison Markell played the puck out wide to fellow senior
Jeff Losurdo, who laid it off perfectly for Musa. Musa took the puck and fired it into the back of the net for his second goal of the season.

Vladislav Firstov scored at the 14:02 mark to give the Huskies a 2-1 lead. Trying to find the tying goal, the Big Green pulled Stevenson in favor of an extra skater. UConn took advantage and scored two empty net goals in the final minutes.

Reid Cashman, the Koenig Family Head Coach of Dartmouth Men's Hockey, said "we're a young team, but we're growing every day.
Jason Tapp did a great job of getting our guys prepared for the penalty kill and we had phenomenal execution tonight to give us a chance."

Dartmouth remains at Thompson Arena next weekend with another two-game homestand. The Big Green host Colgate on Friday evening followed by a Saturday night tilt with Cornell. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
