Field Hockey Falls to Providence in Non-Conference Finale

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Dartmouth field hockey team fell to Providence, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon at Lennon Family Field in their non-conference finale.

Dartmouth falls to 4-12 on the season.

The Big Green opened the scoring just under six minutes into the contest. Sophomore Bronwyn Bird forced a turnover near midfield and brought the ball down into the Friars' defensive circle and fired a back-handed shot towards the bottom right corner for her fourth goal of the season.

Providence answered five minutes later as Olivia Ward scored her seventh of the season. The Friars scored another two goals in the second quarter to take a 3-1 lead into halftime. They added three more in the second half, including another from Ward, to take the victory.

Dartmouth closes out their season on Saturday as they travel to Penn for an Ivy League matchup. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
