THIS WEEKEND
Dartmouth women's basketball will hit the road for the first time, heading two hours south to Durham to face Granite State rival New Hampshire. Tip is scheduled for 12 p.m. and the game can be watched live on AmericaEast.TV for those outside of the United States.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green returned to action after 606 days on Tuesday, falling to Rhode Island, 83-37.
· Dartmouth is very young; only five of the 15 players on the team had seen playing time before Tuesday.
· All of the Green's points were scored by five players, all of whom were playing their first collegiate games.
·
Mia Curtis (5-14 FG, 1-2 FT) and
Rosie Jennings (5-10 FG, 1-1 FT) were tied for first with 11 points each.
·
Mekkena Boyd (3-11 FG, 2-3 3PT, 1-2 FT, 9 pts.),
Doreen Ariik (2-2 FG) and
Isabella DiGiovanni (1-2 FG) rounded out the rest of the scoring.
· After her first game as the Gail Koziara Boudreaux '82 and Family Head Coach of Women's Basketball,
Adrienne Shibles said "It was great to be back on the court. Rhode Island is a great team and our young, inexperienced squad showed moments of brilliance against them."
SCOUTING UNH
The Wildcats opened their season with a loss at No. 9 Iowa, 93-50. Amanda Torres and Sophia Widmeyer led the team with a team-high 13 points apiece.
UNH has a number of the same opponents on its schedule: Brown, Holy Cross, Merrimack, Vermont and Maine.
LAST TIME VS. THE WILDCATS
Dartmouth and New Hampshire have met on the court 43 times dating back to 1973, with the Wildcats holding a 24-19 advantage over the Big Green. Dartmouth has taken control of the series as of late and head into Saturday's matchup on a three-game winning streak.
