Sara Falkson of the Dartmouth field hockey team earned All-Ivy honors, the Ivy League announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Bird received second-team honors while Barnes was an honorable mention. Falkson was named to Academic All-Ivy team.

This is the first All-Ivy recognition for the three student-athletes.

"I'm delighted for each of the athletes who received recognition this year," Head Coach
Mark Egner said. "This a reflection of the work that the whole program has put in this year."

"Special congratulations to Bronwyn who has made a huge impact in her first year of competition," Egner continued. "I'm excited that all three of these girls are returning next year, and hope that we can build on this moving forward."

Bird started all 17 games in her first collegiate season. She was tied for the team lead in goals (4) and finished second in points (9), while chipping in one assist. Bird had a hot start to the season, scoring three goals and providing one assist in the first four games. She added to her scoring total with a solo effort late in the season at Providence.

Barnes had a strong campaign for the Big Green, starting all 17 games in midfield. She scored her lone goal of the season in a 5-0 rout over Merrimack. Barnes also dished out two assists and was second on the team in minutes played for outfield players with 858.

Falkson receives Academic All-Ivy honors for her commitment on the field and in the classroom. As an anthropology major, Falkson boasts a 3.78 GPA. She also served as one of the team captains this season, anchoring the Dartmouth defense as she started all 17 games.
