SAN MARCOS, Texas – Dartmouth women's basketball defeated Texas State after leading from start to finish at Strahan Arena on Thursday afternoon, 62-39.
Adrienne Shibles, the Gail Koziara Boudreaux '82 and Family Head Coach of Women's Basketball, picked up her first Division I victory and the program's first win over the Bobcats.
Katie Douglas led with 11 points, while
Victoria Page was right behind with nine after going 3-for-5 in 3-pointers.
Doreen Ariik was first with 10 rebounds while also getting a new season-best eight points.
"I am so proud of this young, resilient team," Shibles said after the game. "They came to battle today and exhibited poise and toughness throughout the contest. Doreen had incredible presence in the paint and her rebounding made a big difference for our squad. The growth that I have witnessed in each of these women has been vast, but we won't be satisfied. Every day is an opportunity to get better and to prepare for conference play."
