The Intercollegiate Rowing Coaches Association (IRCA) has released the final regular season standings for 2021.
The Big Green heavyweight team came in at No. 10 in the poll with 127 points. Brown and Princeton were the only higher ranked Ivy institutions at eighth and fourth, respectively. The University of Washington claimed the top spot with all 11 first-place votes.
The poll is determined by the voting of 11 pollsters across the nation, representing every region in men's collegiate rowing, as well as all divisions. The IRCA is currently only ranking schools who have started official competition for 2021.
Despite having only raced in one competition this spring due to COVID, the Big Green lightweight team debuted in its rankings at No. 6.
The heavyweight team next will head to Trenton, New Jersey, for the IRA Championship to be held May 28-29. Four boats will race for the Big Green at Mercer County Park, including a varsity four with cox that will be comprised of lightweight rowers. More information on the championship event will come next week.
