BOSTON, Mass. — The Dartmouth field hockey team fell to Northeastern, 3-0, in non-conference action on Friday evening at Dedham Field.
Â
The Huskies scored two goals in the first half and one in the fourth quarter to take the victory.
Â
Northeastern opened the scoring two and a half minutes into the contest as Lexie Dunleavy played the ball to Lauren Rowe, who shot the ball through the defense and into the goal for the 1-0 lead.
Â
The Huskies added to their lead midway through the second quarter when they took advantage of a penalty corner. Dartmouth goalkeeper senior
Isabella Santucci made a diving save on the initial shot. The rebound fell perfectly to Lara Taylor, who tapped it in to take a two-goal lead.
Â
Midway through the fourth quarter, Cailin Hart scored off a penalty corner for Northeastern. Rowe received the ball and laid it off for Hart, who snuck the ball through the Dartmouth defense into the goal.
Â
Santucci and junior
Hatley Post combined for 11 saves in goal for the Big Green.
Â
Dartmouth (4-4) looks to rebound on Sunday as they host Cornell at Chase Field for their first Ivy League contest since November 9, 2019, when they hosted Cornell in their final regular season game.
