The Big Green battled hard, creating opportunities in both the first and second half. The action went back and forth throughout the game. In the first half, each side fired three shots on goal and there were eight corner kicks between the two teams. Dartmouth (0-6) had three and Hartford (2-6-2) had five. Neither team could find the back of the net and the score was 0-0 at half.
The second half saw much of the same action. Shots on goal were equal again as both sides put three on net. The Big Green saw a number of opportunities but could not convert. They had seven shots in the half and had nine corner kicks to the Hawks' two.
The difference in the game came in the 82nd minute. Hartford broke free into the Dartmouth half and a ball was laid off to the top of the box. Budnik was unable to stop the shot that was placed into the top left corner and the Big Green trailed 1-0. Despite two late corners, Dartmouth was unable to find an equalizer and fell 1-0 after 90 minutes of play.
Dartmouth returns to action, Saturday when they begin Ivy play against Princeton. It will be the team's first home game of the season and start time is set for 5 p.m. on ESPN+.
