Takeda Punches Ticket to ITA Super Regionals

The sophomore won his third straight to continue his ITA run
WEST POINT, N.Y. — Hikaru Takeda defeated Army West Point's Samuel Eden in a thrilling three-set match during Monday's culmination of the ITA Regionals at Army West Point. Following the win, Takeda advances to ITA Super Regionals, which will be hosted by Harvard beginning Friday, Oct. 21.

The sophomore edged Eden, who earned All-Patriot League honors a season ago, in the first set before dropping the second, but bounced back for a hard-earned 7-5 triumph in the third to seal the victory. Also vying for a Super Regional bid, Waleed Qadir was one win away and came up short against Harvard's David Lins.
