SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Dartmouth men's hockey team fell to Union, 4-1, in ECAC Hockey action on Friday evening at the Messa Rink at Achilles Center.

Dartmouth moves to 1-3-1, 1-2-1 while Union improves 5-7-1, 3-2-0.

Sean Chisholm scored his first goal of the season for the Big Green.
Ian Pierce and
Tanner Palocsik chipped in the assists.
Cooper Black made 18 saves in net.

Mason Snell, Ben Tupker, Caden Villegas and Cullen Ferguson each scored for Union. Five different players finished with an assist while Connor Murphy made 23 saves to take the win.

The Dutchmen held the edge in the opening period with an 11-1 shots on goal advantage. Black turned them all away to keep the game scoreless going into the second frame.

The Big Green controlled the opening moments of the second period and took the lead just under seven minutes into the period. Both teams had taken a penalty, giving us 4v4 for roughly a minute. Pierce found Chisholm close to goal and Chisholm's shot made its way past Murphy to give Dartmouth a 1-0 lead.

Union tied things up later in the period when Snell's shot into traffic from the left side snuck its way past Black for his first goal of the season. The Dutchmen took the lead with six and a half minutes left in the period. John Prokop played a long pass along the boards that came back around for Bram Scheerer. Scheerer laid it off for Tupker, who fired a shot past Black to give Union a 2-1 lead.

The Big Green pulled Black twice in the final minutes as they looked to tie the game. Union capitalized on both opportunities with two empty net goals to close out the game.

Dartmouth is back in action tomorrow evening for an ECAC Hockey matchup at Rensselaer. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet.
