HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth men's hockey team picked up three points as they defeated Yale, 1-0, in ECAC Hockey and Ivy League action on Saturday evening at Thompson Arena.

Dartmouth improves to 4-17-3, 3-12-2, while Yale falls to 5-17-1, 4-12-1. The Big Green are now 1-6-1 in Ivy League play this season. The Bulldogs move to 2-7.

Mark Gallant scored his eighth goal of the season while
Sean Chisholm is now tied for the team-lead in assists after getting his ninth tonight.

Clay Stevenson picked up his first career shutout, making 37 saves on the evening. The Big Green defense threw their bodies on the line as they blocked a total of 16 shots.

Yale went on the power play inside the opening four minutes of the game when
Jack Cameron was called for interference. The Big Green successfully killed off the penalty.

The Big Green opened the scoring midway through the first period when
Mark Gallant scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season.
Ian Pierce played the puck down the ice to
Sean Chisholm. Chisholm's shot on goal was saved but the rebound fell to Gallant to smash in to give Dartmouth the 1-0 lead.

Dartmouth used that momentum through the remainder of the opening period, getting high quality looks at goal but were fended off by Yale goaltender Luke Pearson.

It was a quiet second as the Bulldogs outshoot the Big Green, 13-7.
Clay Stevenson kept them off the board with several highlight reel saves towards the end of the frame.

The Bulldogs pulled Pearson with 1:25 remaining after
Matt Hubbarde went to the penalty box, giving Yale a 6v4 advantage as they looked for the equalizer. The Big Green defense fended off the Bulldogs' attack to hold on for the win.

This was the ninth time this season that Stevenson eclipsed 30 saves.

This was the first shutout for the Big Green at Thompson since the 2018-19 season, when Dartmouth blanked St. Lawrence, 8-0, to close out the first round in the ECAC Hockey tournament.

Dartmouth returns to the ice on Monday evening at Princeton for an ECAC Hockey and Ivy League contest. Puck drop is set for 5 pm and the game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet.
