The counterintuitive problem of too much snow pushes the GS to Thursday

PARK CITY, Utah — The first day of the NCAA Skiing Championships, featuring the giant slalom, has been postponed due to adverse course conditions brought about by excessive snow that fell through the night and is expected to continue into the afternoon at Park City Mountain Resort. The races will be held on Thursday beginning at 9 a.m. (MST) along with the classical cross country races at Soldier Hollow in Midway, Utah, which begin at 10 a.m. (MST).
