LEONIA, N.J. – Dartmouth women's rowing competed against Columbia, No. 2 Yale and No. 16 Penn on Saturday.
Â
The Connell Cup was first contested in 1975 between the Quakers and the Bulldogs, while the Lions joined in 1994. This year, the Big Green was added as a guest.
Â
Yale won all five of the races to earn both the Class of 1985 Cup for its win over Dartmouth's 1V8 and the Connell Cup for defeating the other two Ivy League programs.
Â
Both the 3V8 (8:07.43) and the 2V4 (8:35.54) placed fourth. The Green's 2V8 – coxed by
Grace McInerney and stroked by
Cece Plass – was third with a time of 7:41.54, finishing just five seconds ahead of Columbia.
Â
There was a photo finish in the 1V4, with the Lions squeaking out a win over the Quakers by four tenths of a second. Dartmouth followed soon after with a time of 8:20.26. In the final race of the day, the Big Green were fourth in the 1V8 (7:24.85), coming in behind Columbia.
Â
On April 15-16, Dartmouth will compete at the Big10 Invite in Sarasota, Florida.
