HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's rowing retained the Parent's Plate on Saturday, defeating Cornell in four races on Cayuga Lake.
Â
The last time the plate was contested was on April 28, 2019, an event the Green won. Not counting the two years the race was canceled due to COVID-19, Dartmouth has been victorious four times in a row.
Â
Brown was also racing on the Cayuga, competing against the Big Red for the Dunn Bowl and winning all five of their events. Dartmouth claimed the Parent's Plate by virtue of its first-place finish in the V8, finishing with a time of 6:52.3 and beating Cornell by five seconds.
Â
The 2V8 was closer, with the Green completing the course in 6:40.3 and besting the host by just over two seconds. There was more distance between the teams in the V4, with Dartmouth clocking a time of 7:33.4 and out-finishing Cornell by 11 seconds.
Â
The Big Green's 2V4 had 7:39.9, being followed closely by the Big Red (7:42.2). In the final race of the day, Dartmouth's 3V4 finished between Cornell's C and D boats (8:21.9).
Â
Next Sunday, the Green will head to Worcester for the Eastern Sprints.
