Ivy Championship Wraps up the Season for Women's Crew

The team will compete on the Cooper River in New Jersey

Dartmouth women's crew will wrap up an historic season Sunday with the Ivy League Championship on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, New Jersey. After competing in only four races in the past two seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Green competed in a full complement of races this past fall and spring.

Most recently the women traveled to Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts for the Eastern Sprints. The Big Green had five boats competing with the second and third varsity boats advancing to the grand finale. The second varsity boat (7:11.855), coxed by Aarushi Jain, had a fifth-place finish in a race won by Brown (6:46.667), while the third varsity placed sixth.

The second varsity four comprised of Sonya Dancak at coxswain, Morgan Kendall, Georgia Alexander, Arianna Stamtoyanoupoulos and Maja Tellander came out on top in the 2V4 petite final. As a team the Big Green finished eighth out of 16 teams.

When the Ivy League Championship was last contested in 2019 — also on the Cooper River — Dartmouth finished in sixth place with 28 points.

Head coach Nancy LaRocque is excited to have her team back out on the water. "We are excited to showcase our progress this year as a program. We have come a long way as a team since September, and our goal is for our athletes to have a great experience while making Dartmouth faster. The Ivy League is one of the most competitive conferences when it comes to performance on the water and in the classroom. We are racing some of the best talent from around the world and we are looking forward to representing Dartmouth on this stage."
