The Dartmouth men's track and field team competed at the Tennessee Relays and the Ocean State Invitational over the last few days.
The Tennessee Relays were held at the University of Tennessee's Tom Black Track while the Ocean State Invitational was held at Brown's Richard Gouse Field at Brown Stadium.
"It was a great first week of competition after returning from spring break for the start of the new academic term," said Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country
Porscha Dobson.
"Our team is truly re-writing the record books. Success has become contagious around here," Dobson continued. "I am exciting for what's to come in this short outdoor season as we gear up for Heps and aim to qualify for the NCAA East Prelims in May."
TENNESSEE RELAYS
The Big Green sent two multis athletes down to Tennessee,
Karl-Oskar Pajus and
Ryan Cashman.
Pajus finished seventh in the decathlon with a new lifetime best of 6954, putting him ninth in program history and eighth in the NCAA East Regional rankings. His PR of 48.47 in the 400m ranks tenth in program history.
Cashman also had a personal best decathlon score with a total of 6518. He finished 14
th in the competitive meet and ranks 17
th in the East Regional rankings.
OCEAN STATE INVITATIONAL
Dartmouth took the win in the meet with 177 points, defeating second-place Rhode Island (164) and Ivy League rival, Brown (107).
Myles Epstein kicked things off by taking first in the 100m dash with a personal best time of 10.64. Epstein kept it going by taking the win in the 200m with a PR of 21.37, followed by
Nils Wildberg in second with a lifetime best of 21.54. Epstein is now fifth in program history in the 200m while Wildberg's time is ninth.
Davy Appleton won the 800m with a time of 1:57.20.
The Big Green finished 1-2-3-4 in the 1500m lead by
Isaac Weber, finishing in 3:55.81, followed by
Christian Myers,
Jason Norris, and
Alexander Craig.
Justin Stevens made his collegiate debut, taking second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.69.
Rahul Batlanki won the triple jump with a mark of 14.11m.
Jake Dalton threw another lifetime best in the hammer throw with a throw of 62.27m, putting him seventh in program history, third in the Ivy League, and 26
th in the regional rankings.
Myles Schreck (60.00m) took second in the hammer throw while
Ben Pable (52.00m) finished sixth and bested his PR by 5m.
