HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's tennis was edged by Cornell on Saturday, 4-3. The Big Green are now 6-9 overall and 0-2 in Ivy League play, while the Big Red improved to 6-8 and 2-0.
The visitors won at No. 1 doubles, but a 6-4 victory by
Ashley Hess and
Chidimma Okpara on court two evened things up.
Lexi Dewire and
Emily Zhou battled it out with Ashley Huang and Valerie Ho at the No. 3 position, ultimately winning by a score of 7-6(3).
Big Red wins at the No. 1 and 5 singles put Cornell up by one, while victories by Hess on court two and Fahrmeier at the No. 4 position gave the lead back to Dartmouth. The final two wins went to Cornell and gave the win to the Big Red.
On Sunday, the Green will host No. 43 Columbia at 1 p.m.
