The Dartmouth women's track and field team competed at the Tennessee Relays and the Ocean State Invitational over the last few days.
The Tennessee Relays were held at the University of Tennessee's Tom Black Track while the Ocean State Invitational was held at Brown's Richard Gouse Field at Brown Stadium.
"It was a great first week of competition after returning from spring break for the start of the new academic term," said Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country
Porscha Dobson.
"Our team is truly re-writing the record books. Success has become contagious around here," Dobson continued. "I am exciting for what's to come in this short outdoor season as we gear up for Heps and aim to qualify for the NCAA East Prelims in May."
TENNESSEE RELAYS
The Big Green only sent one athlete down to Tennessee, but she made the most of her trip.
Anoush Krafian took seventh in a competitive two-day heptathlon competition. With a total score of 5016, she walks away with a new lifetime best that puts her sixth in program history. Over the course of the two days, Krafian had a personal best in the 100m hurdles (14.32), the fifth best time in program history, and a PR in the 200m dash, finishing with a time of 24.67. Krafian now sits 13
th in the NCAA East Regional rankings.
OCEAN STATE INVITATIONAL
Dartmouth walked away with a huge win in the Ocean State Invitational, finishing with 192 points. They bested second-place UMass Amherst by 32 points and defeated fellow Ivy League rival Brown by 101 points.
The Big Green took the top three spots in the 200m dash.
Cori Hoffer (25.05) took first followed by
Emma Cunningham (25.21) and
Danielle Pringle (25.24). In the 800m, Dartmouth finished 1-2 with
Bella Pietrasiewicz with a personal best 2:13.55 with
Annie Jackson taking second.
Madaket Nobili and
Abigail Brazil finished first and second in the 1500m. Nobili bested her PR by nine seconds, finishing in 4:37.95 while Brazil tied her personal best of 4:38.81.
The 4x100m relay team of Cunningham,
Joy Enaohwo, Hoffer, and
Bridget McNally brought 10 points to the team after taking first. The 4x400m relay team of Hoffer,
Michelle Quinn,
Bella Pietrasiewicz, and Jackson took second with a time of 4:01.59.
Gabriela Fasanelli had a PR of 5.29m in the long jump.
In the hammer throw,
Lily Lockhart threw a lifetime best of 56.30m, the third best mark in program history and ranks third in the Ivy League.
Julia Reglewski threw a PR in the hammer throw (46.42m) and took first in the discus with a throw of 44.96m.
