THURSDAY NIGHT SOCCER
The Dartmouth women's soccer team returns to Burnham Field after playing their last two games on the road in Michigan. The Big Green host the LIU Sharks under the lights with a 7:00 p.m. start time. This will be the first of two games this season in which Dartmouth kicks off at 7:00 p.m.
LOOKING BACK TO THE MICHIGAN TRIP
The Big Green suffered their first loss of the season on Thursday, September 5, falling to Michigan State by a score of 4-1.
Aspen Anderson scored for Dartmouth which was the first goal conceded by the Spartans during the 2022 season. On Sunday, the Big Green played the Eagles of Eastern Michigan at the Legacy Center Sports Complex in Brighton, Michigan. It was a hard-fought battle that ended in a 1-1 draw.
Aleena Seales claimed the goal for Dartmouth.
THE STATS
Anderson and Seales currently sit atop the team leaderboard in goals with two each after they both scored the goals this past weekend.
Allie Winstanley and
Sydney Brown are tied for second with one apiece. Winstanley leads in the assist column with two while
Dasa Hase,
Mary Lundregan and Brown all have one.
Charlotte Cyr has handled the goalkeeping duties for the Big Green so far this season, playing all but nine minutes. Cyr has made 26 saves and has a save percentage of 0.839. Her average of 6.50 saves per game is first in the Ivy League.
SCOUTING LIU
The Sharks come into Thursday's contest sitting at 2-4. They are currently on a three-game losing streak after falling to Stony Brook (5-1), Vermont (1-0) and UMBC (2-0).
LIU has four players tied for the top spot in scoring as Jaylin Counts, Taylor Curcio, Maria Camila Orozco and Gina Proviano have each scored one goal. Counts also leads in assists with two while Curcio and Caroline Nuttall both have one.
Eva Katsaitis and Kayla DeTreux have shared the minutes in goal this season, combining for 21 saves and allowing 12 goals.
