HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth women's hockey team is set for its first game at Thompson Arena in 2023, as the Big Green take on the Harvard Crimson. Dartmouth looks to pick up a needed ECAC Hockey conference win this Friday in the first contest of a three-game home stand.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green last took the ice on the road last weekend in a pair of conference tilts against Princeton and then-No. 3 Quinnipiac. Dartmouth fell behind early against Princeton, falling by a score of 5-2, before taking Quinnipiac to the limit, dropping a close contest by a score of 3-2.
Dartmouth allowed four goals in the first period against Princeton but attempted a comeback in the final two periods.
Jenna Donohue and
Currie Putrah found the back of the net for the Big Green as Dartmouth fell by three goals to the Tigers.

Maggie Emerson stopped 18 of 19 shots she faced in the second and third frames.
Dartmouth attempted another comeback against Quinnipiac, as
Laura Fuoco and
Caroline Appleyard scored in the third period after the Big Green fell behind by two. Appleyard's first collegiate goal put Dartmouth within striking distance.
The Bobcats outlasted Dartmouth, surviving an offensive onslaught from the Big Green in the final five minutes of play.
LOOKING TO PROTECT HOME ICE
The Big Green are in search of their first win at Thompson Arena this season. Dartmouth has been unsuccessful in its first six home games of the 2022-23 season and look to protect home ice against Harvard.
Dartmouth has been outscored 21-12 in six games at Thompson Arena. The Big Green's wins have come exclusively on the road, which the program looks to remedy throughout the second half of the season.
Despite the Big Green's offensive struggles at home, Dartmouth has outshot their opponents at Thompson Arena. The Big Green have registered 188 shots on goal, compared to 186 from opposing teams.
Dartmouth's last home game came against Merrimack on December 10, 2022. The Big Green fell by a score of 4-3 in a close non-conference game.
SCOUTING HARVARD
Harvard enters Friday's matchup with a record of 4-10-3 and an ECAC Hockey mark of 3-7-3. The Crimson have recorded just one road victory this season, a 2-1 win at St. Lawrence on December 3, 2022.
The Crimson last took the ice on Tuesday, January 10 against the St. Lawrence Saints at home. Harvard rallied from a two-goal deficit to earn a tie in ECAC Hockey competition.
Harvard is led offensively by senior forward Anne Bloomer, who leads her squad in points (11) and goals (7). Sophomore Alex Pellicci has started all 17 games for the Crimson and has posted a save percentage of .924 and a goals against average of 2.95. She leads ECAC Hockey in average saves per game, stopping 36.53 shots per game.
The Crimson have been outscored 51-26 through 17 games and are outshot by opponents, on average, 39.5-26.8 each game.
Harvard is strong in the faceoff circle, winning 52.9% of draws against its opponents.

Harvard holds a 54-43-3 lead in the all-time series against the Big Green.
Dartmouth's last win over the Crimson came on October 23, 2015. The Big Green knocked off then-No. 5 Harvard in their season-opener by a score of 2-1.
Harvard has won the last 12 meetings between the programs, including a win in Dartmouth's season-opener on October 21, 2022. The then-No. 15 Crimson knocked off the Big Green by a score of 3-0.
