HANOVER, N.H. – Braiden Dorfman scored the equalizer with one minute remaining to send the game to overtime, but Colgate scored late in the extra period to take a 4-3 win over the Dartmouth men's hockey team on Saturday evening at Thompson Arena. The Big Green move to 4-17-1, 3-11-1 while the Colgate improves to 13-11-2, 10-4-0.

Tanner Palocsik finished with one goal and one assist for the Big Green while
Jack Cameron and Dorfman each scored once.
Luke Haymes had two assists and
Cam MacDonald and
Matt Hubbarde each had one.
Cooper Black made 30 saves in goal for Dartmouth.

Ross Mitton had one goal and one assist for the Raiders. Colton Young, Matt Verboon, and Alex Young each scored once while Nick Anderson had two assists. Carter Gylander finished with 29 saves.

Colgate nearly opened the scoring late in the opening period when Alex DiPaolo had a good scoring chance right in front of goal. Black brilliantly anticipated the play and come up with a huge stop for the Big Green to keep the game scoreless.

Dartmouth took a 1-0 lead early in the second frame. With the puck along the boards in the offensive zone, Haymes poked it back to Palocsik at the point. Palocsik fired a shot through traffic and past Gylander for his fourth goal of the season.

The Raiders tied the game 34 seconds later. DiPaolo had the puck behind the Dartmouth net, and played it out front to Verboon for the tap-in.

The Big Green took back the lead later in the period when Cameron scored his first goal of the season. MacDonald passed the puck across the ice to Cameron for the laser of a shot that gave Dartmouth a 2-1 lead.

Colgate scored on the power play early in the third period to tie the game before scoring midway through the frame to take a 3-2 lead.

The Big Green pressured the Raiders as the clock ran down, pulling Black for the extra attacker as they looked for the equalizer. Dartmouth got off a flurry of shots with a minute to go but it was Dorfman that smashed it home, sending the game to overtime.
Dartmouth had a chance early in the extra period as
Joey Musa had a shot on goal, but it was saved by Gylander to keep the game going. With a shootout looming, the Raiders found the winner with 45 seconds remaining. Alex Young had space and skated towards goal and slipped one past Black to give Colgate the win.

The Big Green earned a point in the standings with the overtime defeat.

Dartmouth continues its homestand next weekend as the Big Green host Princeton on Friday evening followed by Quinnipiac on Saturday. Both games are scheduled for 8 p.m. and will be available to stream on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet, with Saturday's game also being broadcast regionally on NESN.
