ITHACA, N.Y. — The Dartmouth women's squash team fell to the Cornell Big Red in Ivy League competition Sunday afternoon. The Big Green took a point from No. 5 Cornell at the fifth position but could not overcome their foe on the road.
Priya Verma was stellar in her match against Selena Georgieva, as she knocked off her opponent in four sets. After splitting the first two sets, Verma closed out the match with wins by scores of 11-8 and 11-7 to claim a victory for the Big Green.
Callie Worth battled to five sets against Cornell's Alexis Shatzman at position No. 8. The freshman went up 2-1 on her opponent, but a rally from Shatzman in the fourth and fifth sets gave the Big Red the point.
The Big Green are back in action on Wednesday, February 1 for a road matchup against Middlebury. The non-conference match will take place at 4:30 p.m.
