A BREAK FROM CONFERENCE PLAY
The Dartmouth men's hockey team takes a break from conference play, as it turns its attention towards a non-conference game against UConn. The game will take place at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
THREE MORE POINTS IN THE STANDINGS
Dartmouth picked up three crucial points on the road in their last weekend of play at No. 7 Cornell and Colgate.
The Big Green skated to a 2-2 tie against the Big Red on Friday evening.
John Fusco tallied both goals, including one on the power play, in the second period.
Nikita Nikora,
Luke Haymes,
Sean Chisholm and
Joey Musa all had assists in the game.
Cooper Black made 31 saves between the pipes.
Dartmouth claimed its second win of the year the following night, a 3-2 overtime victory over the Raiders.
Cooper Flinton scored both goals, his first two of the season. Nikora scored his first collegiate goal midway through the extra period to give Dartmouth the extra point in the standings.
CJ Foley and Haymes both finished with two assists while Black made 36 stops, including one penalty shot.
ECAC HOCKEY WEEKLY AWARDS
The Big Green picked up two more weekly awards after the last time they played, this time through Black and Nikora. Black was named the MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week while Nikora was recognized as the Rookie of the Week.
RECEIVING VOTES
The Big Green's performance in the first six games has not gone unnoticed, as Dartmouth received votes in both national weekly polls last week. They received six in the USCHO poll and four votes in the USA Hockey/The Rink Live College Hockey poll.
The latest USCHO poll has the Big Green with 18 votes, just on the cusp of cracking the top 20.
SCOUTING UCONN
UConn enters Saturday's contest with a 5-8-1 overall record and a 3-5-0 record in Hockey East. The Huskies are coming off a weekend sweep to Boston College, falling to the Eagles, 5-4 in overtime and 3-0 last weekend.
Matthew Wood leads UConn in scoring with 11 points, having scored six goals to go along with five assists. Chase Bradley, Tristan Fraser, Andrew Lucas and Samu Salminen each have four goals. Hudson Schandor has a team-high seven assists.
UConn has utilized two goaltenders this season in Ethan Haider and Arsenii Sergeev. They have combined to make 354 saves while posting a saves percentage of .910.
The Huskies have played four games against ECAC Hockey opponents thus far, posting a 2-1-1 record with wins over Colgate (4-2) and Union (5-0).
The Big Green are 3-1 all-time against the Huskies. Dartmouth won the first three meetings while UConn claimed their first win in the series in the previous meeting on Oct. 30, 2021. This will be the first time that the Big Green have played the Huskies on the road.

The road stint continues as Dartmouth travels to the North Country next weekend for conference matchups against St. Lawrence and Clarkson. The Big Green take on St. Lawrence at 7 p.m. on Friday evening before playing Clarkson at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
