HANOVER, N.H. — After cruising to a 4-1 win over Cornell on Saturday, the Dartmouth women's tennis team was upended 4-0 against Yale on Sunday, the final day of the ECAC Championship, at Alexis Boss Tennis Center.
The Big Green opened the match with a win at No. 3 doubles thanks to
Emily Zhou and
Lexi Dewire, but the two remaining decisions sided with the Bulldogs. Zhou and Dewire notched their second straight win at the No. 3 position having defeated Cornell yesterday. They also held a 5-4 edge against Princeton in Friday's opener before doubles action was halted.
In singles, Yale sealed the victory with two-set wins on Courts 2, 3 and 5. Zhou (No. 4) and
Brooke Hess (No. 6) had both taken first sets from their opponents before Sophia Zaslow's Court 5 triumph sealed the 4-0 Yale win.
Dartmouth had No. 1 seed Princeton on the ropes Friday, then rolled to a dominant win over Cornell on Saturday, and now finishes sixth in the ECAC Championship following Sunday's loss. The championship match will feature Princeton and Brown.
The Big Green are back in action Saturday, Feb. 25 to host Long Beach State at 1 p.m.
