HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men's ice hockey team fell in a closely contested battle to No. 2 Quinnipiac, 4-2, in ECAC Hockey action on Saturday evening at Thompson Arena. Dartmouth moves to 4-19-1, 3-13-1 while Quinnipiac improved to 22-3-3, 14-2-0. The Bobcats scored three goals in the final 3:13 of the game.

Mark Gallant and
Cooper Flinton each scored for the Big Green while
Tyler Campbell,
Braiden Dorfman,
Jack Cameron, and
Sean Keohan all had assists.
Cooper Black had a stellar night between the pipes, making a career high 44 saves.

Christophe Fillion, Zach Metsa, Sam Lipkin, and Ethan de Jong scored for the Bobcats. Iivari Rasanen and Jake Johnson each had two assists.

The Big Green opened the scoring with just seconds remaining in the first period. Campbell had the puck just outside the crease and passed the puck to Gallant. Gallant went with the backhanded shot to put it past Bobcats goaltender Yaniv Perets for his first goal of the season.
Dartmouth nearly added to the lead with six and a half minutes to go in the second.
Cooper Flinton took a shot from the left circle that struck the far pipe and went wide.

Quinnipiac tied the game with 97 seconds remaining in the second period. Fillion, from just outside the crease, redirected a shot that snuck past Black.

Dartmouth regained the lead shortly into the third frame when Flinton scored his sixth goal of the year. Cameron ripped a shot from the point and Flinton was well-positioned to tip it around Perets to give the Big Green a 2-1 lead.
The Bobcats once again tied the game with 3:13 left to go in the final period. Metsa fired a shot from the point through traffic that found its way past Black. Quinnipiac took its first lead of the night when Lipkin scored with 1:45 remaining.

The Big Green pulled Black as they looked to tie the game to force overtime. Quinnipiac took advantage when de Jong scored an empty net goal to seal the victory just 24 seconds later.

The Dartmouth defense blocked a total of 21 shots.

Dartmouth remains at home on Friday as they take on Harvard in ECAC Hockey and Ivy League action at Thompson Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. and the game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet.

Notes: This is the third time this season that Black has eclipsed 40 saves in a game and second time against Quinnipiac.
