Dartmouth was victorious in every race against UMass and MIT

FAIRLEE, Vt. — The Dartmouth women's rowing team put forth a stellar performance at Lake Morey on Saturday, with the Big Green winning all four races against visiting UMass and MIT. The Big Green began the morning with a win in the Varsity Eight, then went on to pick up victories in the 2V, Varsity Four and 3V.

"Overall, it was a great day for us," said Big Green head coach Nancy LaRocque. "Every boat executed its race plan well. We're excited to capitalize on our experiences as we head into women's sprints next weekend.

"It was a stellar way to cap off celebrating our seniors."

Saturday was Dartmouth's Senior Day, as the Big Green celebrated their 10 seniors throughout the week and following the racing.

The Varsity Eight kicked off the morning by posting a time of 6:48.63, nearly six seconds ahead of MIT in second (6:54.56) and almost 12 seconds ahead of UMass in third (7:00.34).

The Second Varsity Eight followed with a more-than-10-second win. The Big Green posted a time of 7:07.48, ahead of UMass (7:17.60) and MIT (7:25.28). Next up was the fours, which saw Dartmouth's Varsity Four come in first (8:29.89), followed by UMass (8:37.83), the Big Green's Second Varsity Four (or "B" boat) (9:02.83) and MIT (9:13.48).

The morning was capped off by Dartmouth's Third Varsity Eight beating UMass by nearly 30 seconds (7:30.93 to 7:59.08).

The Big Green return to the water next weekend when they travel to the Women's Eastern Sprints on Sunday, Apr. 30.
