HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth sailing team participated in a trio of regattas during its sixth weekend of the spring season. The Big Green continued their development at events across the northeast as the championship season continues.
The Big Green competed for the Reed Trophy at the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA) Women's Fleet Race Championship event. Dartmouth were represented by
Maddie Hawkins,
Sarah Young,
Aisling Sullivan and
Elise Donovan in the "A" division.
Gray Hemans and
Caroline Oyster participated in the "B" division.
Both the "A" and "B" teams closed the event ranked seventh in their respective divisions and secured an eighth-place finish in the overall competition.
Dartmouth also took part in the Admirals Cup event, hosted at Kings Point. The Big Green closed the event ranked sixth in a competitive field of 18 teams.
Will Michels,
Reese Bragg and
Griffin Lapham sailed in the "A" division, while
James Paul and
Drew Clutterbuck represented the Big Green in the "B" division.
A 10
th-place finish in "A" division competition and a seventh-place finish in the "B" group helped Dartmouth close the event in the top-half of the leaderboard. The Ivy League was well-represented at the event, as Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Yale and Brown all finished in the top eight.
The Big Green also participated at the Boston Dinghy Cup regatta, hosted by MIT. Dartmouth finished eighth in the three-division event.
Oliver Hurwitz,
Maya Nguyen and
Madeleine Regulla represented Dartmouth well in the "A" division, closed the weekend in fifth place.
Next weekend, Dartmouth sets sail at the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Team Race National Championship and the Coast Guard Alumni Bowl events.
