HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth softball team returns to Hanover for an Ivy League series against the Harvard Crimson. The Big Green look to bounce back after being swept last weekend to keep pace in the conference postseason race.
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
The Big Green will take the field on Saturday for its doubleheader against Harvard in honor of mental health awareness.
In conjunction with Dartmouth Peak Performance and the Student-Athlete Advisory committee, the softball program will raise awareness on taking care of mental health and celebrating those who support mental health on campus.
The Big Green would like to thank the Counseling Center, DP2, the Student Wellness Center, the JED Foundation, Student Mental Health Union, Hidden Opponent and Morgan's Message.

PRIDE AWARENESS
The Dartmouth softball team will also be celebrating Pride Awareness on Saturday. The Big Green will wear rainbow shoelaces during Saturday's games in honor of inclusivity.
Dartmouth Pride is an annual celebration centering LGBTQIA+ students, creating space for queer joy and connecting the campus community to LGBTQIA+ experiences.

LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green last took the field for a conference series against Columbia. Dartmouth was unable to secure a win in New York City, as the Big Green were swept by the Lions in a trio of closely contested games.
Dartmouth dropped the first two games of the series on Friday, March 31. Both games were back and forth affairs, with each game going to extra innings. Columbia came out on top in both tilts, with walk-off victories in the 10
th inning of game one and the eighth inning of the second contest.
The final game of the series saw 12 combined hits from each team, but just four runs. Columbia found a way to overcome Dartmouth by a score of 3-1 to secure its first sweep of the Big Green since 2019.
Kelly Beaupre recorded her team-leading fourth home run of the season in Dartmouth's second game of the Columbia series. All of the junior utility player's homers have come in conference play.
Sophomore pitcher
Rachel McCarroll pitched 14.2 innings over the weekend, including a complete-game performance in Dartmouth's 10-inning tilt on Friday.
SCOUTING HARVARD
Harvard enters the weekend with a 16-9-1 record and a 7-2 Ivy League mark. The Crimson sit atop the Ivy League standings, tied with Princeton with a winning percentage of .778 in Ancient Eight competition.
The Crimson head to Hanover riding a five-game win streak, including a sweep of Brown at home last weekend. Harvard also knocked off Merrimack in both games of a doubleheader in Cambridge, Massachusetts and have outscored its opponents 27-4 in its last five contests.
Trina Hoang has been dominant in Ivy League competition through nine games. The senior holds a conference batting average of .560, which leads the Ivy League. Fellow senior Teagan Shaw leads the Ivy League in RBIs (10) against Ancient Eight foes.
The Crimson have been anchored by solid pitching throughout the season. Katie Arrambide, Riley Flynn and Anna Reed have led a group of pitchers that hold an ERA of 2.33.
HISTORY AGAINST THE CRIMSON
Dartmouth looks to improve upon its all-time record of 20-56 against Harvard this weekend.
Last season, the Big Green dropped two of three games against Harvard in Cambridge. Harvard claimed the first game of a doubleheader by a score of 4-1 before Dartmouth tied the series with an 11-6 win to close the day. The Crimson closed the series with a walk-off win in the eighth inning the following day to claim the series.
Harvard has been dominant against Dartmouth in the last 10 meetings. The Big Green have won just two of the last 10 contests, both of which took place on the road. The Crimson have won seven straight games at the Dartmouth Softball Park, dating back to 2017.
AROUND THE IVY LEAGUE
Dartmouth heads into the weekend tied for fourth place in the Ivy League. Harvard is tied for first at the top of the standings alongside Princeton, with both teams holding a record of 7-2 in conference play.
Columbia propelled itself to third in the Ancient Eight last weekend with its sweep of Dartmouth at home. The Lions hold a record of 6-3 in conference play.
Yale trails Dartmouth and Cornell in sixth with a record of 4-5. Brown and Penn occupy the seventh and eighth slots with a record of 2-7 and 1-8. Both teams will need to turn their seasons around quickly if they look to qualify for the Ivy League Tournament in May.
All eight teams will take on conference foes this weekend. Dartmouth's series with Harvard is crucial for both teams, as the Big Green look to climb the standings and the Crimson look to maintain their spot atop the standings.
Brown and Cornell will face off in Providence, Rhode Island. The Bears look for a home sweep of the Big Red to improve their standing as postseason play approaches. Princeton hosts Columbia in a battle of top-three foes, while Yale looks to hold off Penn in New Haven, Connecticut.
