HANOVER, N.H. — Returning home after earning its first Ivy League win at Brown, the Dartmouth men's tennis team came up short in its quest for consecutive conference victories on Sunday at Thompson Outdoor Courts, dropping a 7-0 decision to Yale.
"It was a tough match for us today," said
Xander Centenari, Dartmouth's John Kenfield and Chuck Kinyon Head Coach. "The guys fought hard today, but we didn't quite have enough. We'll regroup and get ready for next weekend."
Yale raced to a pair of victories on the top two doubles courts before sweeping through singles, despite a trio of three-set battles from the Big Green.
Henry Ren (No. 2),
Miles Groom (No. 3) and
Waleed Qadir (No. 5) all went the distance, taking a set from their Yale counterparts.
Dartmouth's homestand continues next weekend as the Big Green host Columbia on Saturday, April 15 and Cornell the following day. Both matches will begin at 1 p.m.
