HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth sailing team opened the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Open Team Race National Championship regatta on Saturday. The Big Green performed well on the opening day of the competition, finishing its first six races in the round of 16 with a record of 6-2 in Kings Point, New York.

The Big Green and 15 other programs set sail in the round of 16, as each team looks to finish the opening round of the regatta in the top eight. Dartmouth's performance on Saturday sets it up for success moving forward, as its 6-2 record puts the team in fifth place behind only Stanford.

Dartmouth was represented by the pairs of
Boyd Bragg and
Yumi Yoshiyasu,
Maddie Hawkins and
Aisling Sullivan and
Will Michels and
Reese Bragg. The Big Green opened their day with the second overall race of the competition against Robert Morris, securing the win with a 1-4-5 finish. A 1-2-5 finish against Fordham moved the Big Green to 2-0 on the day.

The Big Green improved to 3-0 with a crucial victory over Harvard, as a 2-3-4 finish secured the win. Penn broke Dartmouth undefeated day, but the Big Green bounced back with victories over Miami, St. Mary's and Tulane. The Big Green stumbled in its final race of the day, falling to Coast Guard.
