HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth sailing team competed in the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Open Fleet Race National Championship semifinals on Tuesday. The Big Green closed the opening day of the regatta in ninth place in a field of 18 programs in the western division.

The Big Green competed in eight races in the "A" division and six in the "B" division. Dartmouth sits just inside the top half of the field, and will look to solidify a top-nine finish in the western division tomorrow to qualify for the final round of the regatta.

Dartmouth was represented by
Will Michels,
Reese Bragg and
Maddie Hughes in the "A" division, and closed the day ranked ninth with 66 points. The pair of Michels and Bragg secured a victory in the sixth race of the day and finished second in the first competition of the regatta earlier in the day.

Maddie Hawkins,
Drew Clutterbuck and
Yumi Yoshiyasu closed Tuesday with 49 points in the "B" division and are just seven points behind fourth-place Stanford. Dartmouth's "B" division squad picked up three top-six finishes, including a second-place close to the fifth race of the day.
