Three singles victories and one doubles triumph highlighted Friday’s action

PHILADELPHIA — The Dartmouth men's tennis team opened its fall season and took the court for the first time under Justin DeSanto, the John Kenfield and Chuck Kinyon Head Coach, on Friday morning at the Penn Invitational. The Big Green played exclusively against Temple.

Carlos Guerrero Alvarez, who was a fixture at the No. 1 position in 2023, was one of three Big Green players to earn a singles victory, joining Waleed Qadir and Yujiro Onuma. Qadir used a three-set effort to top Temple's Pranav Nemani.

The Big Green secured one doubles win over the Owls thanks to Henry Ren and Alex Knox-Jones.

Friday marked the first of three days in Philadelphia for Dartmouth. The Penn Invitational continues through Sunday and the Big Green return to Hanover on Friday, Sept. 22 to host the three-day Dartmouth Invitational.
