PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. — The Dartmouth men's golf team kicked off its second tournament of the fall on Saturday, Sept. 16 at the 1912 Club in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania. The Big Green finished round one ranked No. 14 in a competitive field of programs at the Temple Invitational.

Alex Gu and
Tyler Brand led Dartmouth during the first 18 holes of the 36-hole event, as both shot 4-over par to open the weekend.
Aaron Zhang and
Fin Szafnauer shot 10-over par, while
Justin Lee's 15-over 85 was not counted in the Big Green's score.

Brand and Gu finished day one of the invitational tied for 25
th in a field of 78 players. Brand finished his day with a trio of birdies in his first round of collegiate golf, while Gu closed the day with seven pars and three birdies. Szafnauer and Zhang closed the day tied for 67
th in the field and will look to improve upon their first-day scores in the final round.

Drexel leads the field after the first day of competition while Penn and Temple's Cherry team follow behind in second and third. Rhode Island and Rider finished the day tied for fourth place. Dartmouth trails Cornell by just three strokes and looks to climb the leaderboard tomorrow in the final round of the weekend.

The Big Green will close their time at the Temple Invitational tomorrow. The second and final round of the weekend is set to begin at 7 a.m.
