SEEKONK, Mass. – The Dartmouth men's golf team opened its fall slate at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate, hosted by Brown, on Friday, Sept. 19, and Saturday, Sept. 20, and finished sixth out of 18 teams.
The Big Green were just one stroke shy of finishing in fourth place, posting a score of 860 strokes with rounds of 283, 292, and 285. At +8, Dartmouth came in just behind Iona and New Haven, who recorded 859 strokes to finish at +7.
"It was a great start to the season," said Rich Parker, the Bill Johnson Head Coach of Men's Golf. "I'm proud of the guys, and we're just getting started. We have some work to do. I'm really proud of Jordan and Chris. That first college event is really special, and they both birdied their first hole of their careers."
Tyler Brand and Benjamin Wang each earned individual top 15 finishes for Dartmouth, tying for 13th. Brand posted rounds of 71, 76, and 68 to post a score of 215 (+2). Wang was the model of consistency, recording rounds of 70, 71, and 74 for a score of 215 (+2).
Luke Harper was next up for the Big Green, tying for 21st at +3. Harper ended the tournament with rounds of 73, 69, and 74 and recorded a score of 216 (+3).
Jordan Takai tied for 40th at +8, and Chris Chang rounded out Dartmouth's scoring five, tying for 52nd at +10 after closing out the final round with 69 strokes (-2).
