Set Pieces Key for Big Green in 2-0 Win over Penn

Dartmouth scored both goals on set pieces, including one directly from the free kick
HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men's soccer team scored from two set pieces in the second half on its way to a 2-0 victory over Penn in Ivy League action on Saturday evening in front of a home crowd of nearly 1,300 supporters at Burnham Field.
The Big Green improve to 4-3-1, 2-0-0 while Penn, the defending Ivy champion, drops to 2-3-3, 0-1-1.
"I'm very proud of the boys, that Penn team is a very good team," said Bobby Clark Head Coach of Men's Soccer Bo Oshoniyi. "They're the defending Ivy League champion and picked to win this year so for us to come out and win 2-0 is a testament to the guys. They battled from the opening minute and gave us a chance to win."
Dartmouth scored its first goal of the early in the second half. The Big Green drew a free kick 30 yards from goal. Kristian Feed took the kick, curling the ball into the box to find a Dartmouth player. He found the foot of Alexis Huneau, who redirected it back towards the near post. Vasilis Moiras read it perfect as he got to the ball just in time to tuck it into the top corner, giving the Big Green a 1-0 lead.
Penn held the edge in shots on goal, 6-4, and corners, 5-2.
"It's just amazing. The crowd was amazing," said Feed. "We went there and celebrated with them, jumping into the stands with them and enjoyed being at home."
Dartmouth plays host to Bryant on Tuesday evening for a non-conference matchup at Burnham Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be available to stream nationally on ESPN+ and internationally on Stretch Internet. Single-game tickets are available for purchase through the Dartmouth Athletics Ticket Office.
Notes: Dartmouth is now 2-0 in the Ivy League for the first time since the 2015 season.

The Big Green added to the lead just four minutes later, this time on a free kick from just outside the box. Up stepped Feed, who curled his effort over the Penn wall and past the out-stretched arms of Penn goalkeeper Nick Christoffersen into the back of the net for his first goal of the season.GOAL!!!
