HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth men's soccer will host UMass on Tuesday afternoon in its final midweek match and final non-conference match of the regular season. The forecast is unfavorable, with half an inch of rain expected in the Hanover area. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m., and the team will sign autographs after the match.
Last Time Out
Men's soccer recorded 10 corners and 13 total shots against Yale this past weekend in a back-and-forth match that ended in a 0-0 draw. Neither team found the back of the net. The 10 corners were the most in a match this season for Dartmouth, which used the space on the wings effectively against Yale. This time of year, every match is important, and the Big Green did well to earn another point in the Ivy standings.
Ivy Notes
- Eli Granda and Alexis Huneau were named to the Ivy League Player of the Week Honor Roll. They join Hudson Kohler (Defensive Player of the Week, Sept. 28) and Eidur Baldvinsson (Honor Roll, Sept. 28), who also earned weekly Ivy League recognition earlier this season.
- Dartmouth is tied for third in the Ivy League with four points, alongside Princeton and Penn. Dartmouth holds the tiebreaker over Princeton but not Penn. Princeton and Penn will play each other during the last weekend of conference play.
- The Big Green has four conference matches remaining: Columbia, No. 22 Cornell, Brown, and Harvard. Dartmouth will host Columbia and Brown and travel to Cornell and Harvard.
Scouting UMass
UMass brings a 4-6-3 record to Burnham Field. The Minutemen have struggled recently, going winless in their last five matches. They are 0-3-2 over that stretch and have been outscored 10-3. UMass and Dartmouth have one common opponent to date, Vermont, which the Big Green beat 3-1 and the Minutemen lost to 3-0. Forward Thomas Wadas, who was named Summit League Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season, is tied for the team lead with two goals. On defense, goalkeeper Dean Linden has made at least two saves in every match this season and earned Summit League Defensive Player of the Week honors earlier this year.
All-Time Against UMass
Dartmouth leads the all-time series 27-10-5, which dates to 1933. UMass holds the edge over the last 10 matchups, going 5-4-1 against Dartmouth. At home, Dartmouth has been nearly unbeatable against UMass, going 18-3-1.
