Alex McFadden today announced the three captains for the 2024 season. The co-captains include fifth-years
Katie Elders and
Lucy Murray and senior
Isabella Godsick.
Elders, a third generation Dartmouth student, was voted as co-captain for the second straight season. The fifth-year has played 21 career games and has 47 goals. During her junior season, Elders was named to the All-Ivy second team and as a senior, named to the Academic All-Ivy team. The attack had two four-goal games in 2023, against Columbia and Princeton, for her best scoring performance of the season. During the 2022 season, Elders tied the program record for points in an Ivy League game with nine in the 22-6 victory over Columbia.
Murray will also play her second straight season as captain. Last season, Murray had 18 goals and 15 assists and was third overall on the team in points (33). Murray also started all 15 games for the Big Green last season. The attack's best game of 2023 came against Princeton when she recorded three goals and an assist in the win on senior day.
Godsick, a first-time captain at Dartmouth, rounds out the three captains. During her time at Dartmouth, Godsick has played 26 games, and the defender has 115 draw controls and four goals. Last season, Godsick led the team in draw controls (72) and was second in the Ivy League in draw controls per game (4.80). Following the 2023 season, Godsick was named to the CSC Academic All-District At-Large Team for her performance on the field and in the classroom.
The trio and the Big Green open the season on the road against Stony Brook on Sunday, Feb. 18. Their first game at Scully-Fahey Field is scheduled for Feb. 27 at 5 p.m. against twin-state rival Vermont. All home and road Ivy games will be available to stream nationally on ESPN+ and internationally on Stretch Internet.
