GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team dropped a 13-10 contest to No. 4 Florida on Saturday afternoon at Donald R. Dizney Field.
Dartmouth jumped out to an early lead, scoring the first two goals of the game.
Charlotte Myers opened the scoring just 47 seconds into the contest, and
Madeline Egan followed with a man-up goal off an assist from Myers to give the Big Green a 2-0 advantage.
Florida responded with three straight goals to take its first lead late in the opening quarter, but
Katie Barr tied the game with a goal at the 6:24 mark to make it 3-3 after the first 15 minutes.
The Gators pulled ahead in the second quarter behind a seven-goal frame. Despite goals from
Fiona O'Keeffe, Barr,
Lauren Riley and Egan in the period, Florida used a three-goal run midway through the quarter to build momentum and carried a 10-7 lead into halftime.
Dartmouth battled back in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to one on goals from O'Keeffe and Egan. After O'Keeffe scored again with 6:42 remaining in the period to make it 11-10, the Big Green defense held Florida to just one goal in the quarter to keep the game within reach.Florida added two insurance goals in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Egan led Dartmouth with three goals and one assist, while O'Keeffe also recorded a hat trick. Barr added two goals, and Myers contributed a goal and an assist

Ruby Lucken made 12 saves for the Big Green.
Dartmouth finished with 31 shots and 18 on goal, while
Maya Kendall dominated in the circle with 10 draw controls.
