HANOVER, N.H.—Dartmouth women's lacrosse hosted Columbia on senior day at Scully-Fahey Field on Saturday. The Big Green sent their seniors out with a 19-9 win over the Lions.
Columbia scored the first two goals of the game, but the Big Green responded with the next two goals. Fiona O'Keeffe scored the first Dartmouth goal at the 9:39 mark of the opening frame. Etta Coburn tied the game at two with 4:41 left in the first. Columbia took the lead back at the 2:13 mark and then scored the first goal of the second quarter to take a 4-2 lead.
After Columbia took a 4-2 lead, Dartmouth scored four straight goals to take a 6-4 lead. Madeline Egan scored at the 11:51 mark before Katie Barr, Catherine Erb, and F. O'Keeffe scored each scored within a minute and 20 seconds to give Dartmouth a 6-4 lead. Columbia broke the up the run at the 6:16 mark to make it a one goal game. At the 3:51 mark Erb made it a two goal game again. 46 seconds later Barr scored her second of the game to make it 8-5. In the final 92 seconds of the half, Ryan Hapgood and F. O'Keeffe scored to make it a 10-5 game at the halftime break.
The Lions opened the quarter with a goal at the 13:24 mark but the Big Green responded a minute later as Charlotte Myers made it an 11-6 lead. F. O'Keeffe scored her fourth goal of the game at the 9:53 mark. After Columbia scored at the 7:20 mark, F. O'Keeffe scored twice while Egan and Myers each scored to give Dartmouth a 16-7 lead with 2:39 left in the third quarter. The Lions got one back with 47 seconds left in the frame but Dartmouth took a 16-8 lead to the fourth quarter.
The fourth quarter featured four goals with the Big Green scoring three of the four. F. O'Keeffe scored at the 11:27 mark before R. Hapgood scored goals at the 8:20 and 5:28 marks. Columbia scored its ninth goal at the 3:39 mark to close scoring.
F. O'Keeffe notched one of the best games of her career as she had a career high seven goals and one assist. It is the second time in her three-year career that she has tallied eight points, against Bryant on Feb. 22, 2025 she tallied four goals and four assists.
Myers had five points on two goals and three assists. R. Hapgood, Barr, and Erb notched four points each in the win. Egan added a trio of points for the Big Green with two goals and an assist.
Ruby Lucken earned the win in the cage for Dartmouth as she made four saves in the first half. Seniors Jordan Healy and Julia Fortier each played in the second half for the Big Green as the duo allowed just one goal.
Dartmouth had just five turnovers in the win while Columbia had 16. The Big Green had seven caused turnovers, Mia Puccio had three of the seven while Barr, Caroline Kendall, and Sarah Caulkins each had one.
Puccio had a team high four ground balls while both Kendall and Ellie Burdick scooped up a pair.
Dartmouth closes the regular season against Princeton on Saturday, April 25 in New Jersey at Noon.
